Mainbrace consistently monitors and reviews operations to ensure our projects are undertaken in a manner that will reduce any impact on the environment.

Land

  • Reduce the impact of development and construction.
  • Limit harm to flora and fauna by instigating appropriate protective measures.
  • Ensure the site and its surrounding precincts are restored to their original or optimum sustainable condition after project completion.

Water

  • Limit water use by providing efficient service installations.
  • Consider recovery and re-use of waste water and storm/grey water.
  • Maintain natural ground water levels and cleanly discharging excess recovered water.
  • Control surface run-off and sedimentation/ silt issues.

Energy

  • Reduce energy use by providing efficient appliances, plant, and natural ventilation.

Waste

  • Minimise material use by recovering and recycling during construction.
  • Encourage “in service” recycling.
  • Design and construct for ease and efficiency of waste recovery
  • Maximise recycling of built forms.

Construction Activities

  • Establish procedures for the safe containment of hazardous materials and for appropriate action in the event of spillages.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of work practices and equipment to minimise energy use and reduce waste.
  • Ensure that subcontractors and suppliers conform to our Environmental Policy.

We educate our employees on sustainable building practices and continually identify, assess & control environmental risk.
